Life After Finishing Diploma in Applied Linguistics
2004-2005 - Seminary Life was very tiring. Yet, it was really a blessing to be there for a whole school year. I saw how God lifted me up and guided me as I did my part in my studies. There were ups and downs but still God is always there comforting, loving and caring for me. I can say now that I am more mature after going through experiences I never imagined. i thank God that I'm done with my diploma despite the fact that I wasn't able to march for graduation due to my underdergree course. I felt shame but still I thank God for despite not being able to graduate, i finished all my courses knowing that God did a big change in my life.
After my Hebrew final exam, (actually, Hebrew was my favorite subject) I went home and faced my responsibility of being an officer in the Inter-tribal Singles Organization. I am the program coordinator in the year 2002 up to now.
Months had passed and the month of September has come. I know that it's time for me to share what I have learned to other Mother Tongue translators. That was one of my unforgetable experiences in life.
I am doing my lesson plan in grammar. The most difficult subject I have taken in the seminary.
I am trying to fulfill my responsiblity despite shaking knees and speedy heartbeat caused by nervousness. It's my first time to teach people with high knowledge in translation and English than me (that's what I thought).
This was taken during the 2nd workshop which also means my 2nd experience in teaching my co-translators. A pause with my fellow staff, Robyn (I call her "Manang Robyn") in the discourse workshop on Daniel 6 with our workshop coordinator (Ptr. Wilfred Villase).
After a week of lesson plan preparation and 2 weeks workshop, do we really deserve to smile and have our last dinner together with the participants? I think so :) That's me at the back of MarryAnn,the lady with green shirt. She's an Agta translator. The rest in the group are other translators and Jean my fellow staff. She's an Ibaloi translator(2nd from left).
A worthy pause after 2 weeks workshop seminar with workshop participants, fellow staffs and Consultants from SIL. I'm at the center most part, wearing white blouse.
